Week 8 - Biology

Microscopy

This will focus on observing prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells that you’ve learned about over the past few weeks for the first few days then finish out with reviewing for a test covering the chemistry of life, properties of water, and biological macromolecules.

BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:

  • define all terms from the previous 7 weeks,

  • review the essential differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells while differentiating the types of cells in prokaryotes & eukaryotes, and

  • be ready for your test reviewing the items listed above.

Your Week Ahead

Day 1: Quiz

  1. You’ll start class with your quiz covering all aspects of the chemistry of life, properties of water, and biological macromolecules.

  2. When you finish, you can continue with your microscope lab.

Days 2 & 3: Microscopy & Review

  1. We’ll spend the week looking over slides differentiating the parts of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, then spend a little bit of time at the end of the week reviewing for your test on your first day of week 10.
