Week 4 - Biology
Properties of Water
This week will be dedicated to reviewing significant figures and trends we can observe through the Periodic Table of the Elements while also discussing chemical bonds, and the four unique properties of water.
BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:
define all terms from the previous 3 weeks,
describe the difference between ionic, covalent, & metallic bonds,
describe the trends we observe in the periodic table,
and list & compare the essential properties of water.
Your Week Ahead
Day 1: The Details in Chemistry
Note* No Monday meeting due to Labor Day
We’ll begin class with catching up from last week (I’ll review some material related to the chemistry activity that you started) and you’ll continue with the “Chemistry Review” lab from last week.
After class, finish the chemistry review activity that you started for next class.
No Journal this week.
Day 2: Significant Figures, Chemistry Review, & Water.
We’ll review the parts of the microscope, review significant figures, then move to the “Properties of Water” lab at your lab tables.
AFTER CLASS, review key terms so far. This week is going to be like a “checkpoint”. I’ll explain this more in class.

Did you…?
… complete your “Significant Figures Practice” & “Chemistry Review” activities? You’ll submit the “Chemistry Review” activity in class next Monday.
… start your “Properties of Water” lab? (Should at least have the first two pages complete; we will finish the remaining labs on Tuesday)
… finish your “Terms to Know”?
… review the chemistry content videos? Do you feel comfortable with all the chemistry content?
.… study for your quiz at the end of next week? This quiz is reviewing the scientific method and parts of the microscope.
