Week 15 - Biology
The Cell Cycle
Your final week of content before the Thanksgiving break will include a day assessing your knowledge on the pathways associated with photosynthesis and cellular respiration followed by a day introducing cell cycle. Remember that we only meet twice this week due to Friday’s service/learning day.
BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:
describe the cyclical nature of a cell’s life,
compare how prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells differ in this process, and
list the stages of a cell’s cycle in chronological order, including the three stages of interphase, the two stages of M phase, and the steps within mitosis (prophase, metaphase, anaphase, & telophase.
Your Week Ahead
Day 1: Assess Your Knowledge
We’ll start with reviewing the two tables on cell respiration and photosynthesis, then prepare for the week.
You’ll spend the rest of class preparing for those two assessments (your quiz at the end of this week and the test where you draw the processes the following week).
After class, read pages 274-285 in your textbook.
Day 2: Cell Cycle
You’ll spend the day learning about the cell cycle, a topic that we’ll continue with after the thanksgiving.
After class, study!
Day 3: Quiz & Lab
You’ll start with your quiz filing out the two tables on respiration and photosynthesis, then complete a lab on cell respiration.
After class, study for your drawings!
